There are great events happening every day during Festival week. Over the last couple of days we’ve had the Between the Covers Reading Group and Rhymetime at the Library, Cherry Hinton Community Choir at the Baptist Church and Stay & Play at the Children’s Centre. Looking forward to our author event at the Library this evening (Thursday 14th Sept) with Guinevere Glasfurd.

Duck Race 2017
We had a lovely day at the Spring Head for the 2017 Duck Race. The standard of the duck decorating this year was so high I wish we could have given prizes to everyone!
Here are some of our race winners and decorating winners.
Thank you to the 27th Cambridge Scouts for helping out and running the fun duck games.
The Duck Race is organised by the Turbo Trust. All the money raised from the event today will help fund special mobility chairs for people for Owen. You can read Owen’s story here. And here is Owen – with his duck ready for racing!
Festival week 2017 is off to a flying start!
We’ve had a brilliant day today with events at the Library, the Village Leisure Centre and St Andrew’s Church.
Children collected their Summer Reading Challenge certificates from author / illustrator Jools Bentley.
Jools then stayed to host 52 Stories. Jools read her book The Hippopandamouse, showed the children how to a draw the Hippopandamouse and then drew an animal based on the children’s suggestions: A Lionsnaketigerelecatmeerkatowl!
St Andrew’s hosted the duck decorating, ready for the Turbo Trust Duck Race tomorrow. There were some wonderful designs!
Thanks to BETTER Cambridge for the free family badminton session at the Village Centre. Great Festival fun!
See you tomorrow for the Turbo Trust Duck Race!
